DERMORPHIN
Compound Overview
Dermorphin is a naturally occurring heptapeptide originally isolated from the skin secretions of the South American frog Phyllomedusa sauvagei. It is distinguished by the presence of a D-alanine residue at the second amino acid position, a rare structural feature in naturally occurring vertebrate peptides that contributes to its receptor affinity and metabolic stability. Dermorphin has become an important investigational peptide for studying opioid receptor pharmacology, peptide-receptor interactions, and neurobiology.
Researchers have extensively investigated Dermorphin for its highly selective interactions with the μ-opioid receptor (MOR). Experimental studies have utilized Dermorphin as a molecular probe to examine G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) signaling, receptor binding kinetics, intracellular signaling pathways, receptor internalization, and structure-activity relationships. Due to its unique molecular structure and receptor selectivity, Dermorphin remains a valuable research tool in neuroscience, molecular pharmacology, and peptide engineering.
As an investigational peptide, Dermorphin supports laboratory research involving opioid receptor biology, neuropharmacology, molecular signaling, peptide chemistry, and receptor pharmacology.

Laboratory Handling
Store refrigerated immediately upon receipt to preserve peptide stability. For extended laboratory storage, freezing at −20°C or below is recommended. Protect the lyophilized peptide from moisture, excessive heat, and direct light. Following reconstitution, avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as these may reduce peptide stability and biological integrity. Allow the vial to equilibrate to room temperature before opening to minimize condensation, and always use sterile laboratory equipment together with appropriate aseptic laboratory techniques. This product is intended for use only by qualified research personnel operating in controlled laboratory environments.
