KPV (LYS-PRO-VAL)
Compound Overview
KPV is a synthetic tripeptide consisting of the amino acid sequence Lys-Pro-Val. It corresponds to the C-terminal three amino acids of α-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH), a naturally occurring peptide derived from the proopiomelanocortin (POMC) precursor protein. Despite its short sequence, KPV has become an important investigational peptide for studying inflammatory signaling, epithelial biology, and peptide-mediated cellular communication.
Researchers have investigated KPV for its interactions with cellular pathways involved in innate immunity, cytokine regulation, epithelial barrier function, and inflammatory signaling. Experimental studies have examined its influence on NF-κB-mediated signaling, cytokine production, epithelial cell physiology, and immune cell responses. Due to its relatively simple structure and well-characterized biological activity in preclinical models, KPV has become a valuable research tool in immunology, gastroenterology, dermatology, and molecular pharmacology.
As an investigational peptide, KPV supports laboratory research involving molecular biology, immunology, peptide pharmacology, cellular signaling, and structure-activity relationship studies.

Laboratory Handling
Store refrigerated immediately upon receipt to preserve peptide stability. For extended laboratory storage, freezing at −20°C or below is recommended. Protect the lyophilized peptide from moisture, excessive heat, and direct light. Following reconstitution, avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as these may reduce peptide stability and biological integrity. Allow the vial to equilibrate to room temperature before opening to minimize condensation, and always use sterile laboratory equipment together with appropriate aseptic laboratory techniques. This product is intended for use only by qualified research personnel operating in controlled laboratory environments.
